Henrik has the daily ritual of looking out the window and waving as his Dad drives away to work. Then shortly thereafter he comes up to me and says, "Cars show?" He loves his "Cars" movie. He watches it every day. Every. Day. Except for Sunday, of course. (But that doesn't mean he doesn't ask for it on Sunday!) It's so fun to see how excited he gets when it starts and he sees the little THX robot fix the sign. :)
We have the tradition of having family prayer in the morning and in the evening, and eating dinner together as a family. I hadn't really thought of these things as traditions until we had a Relief Society lesson at Church about traditions. We talked about how traditions aren't just things we do at the holidays; anything we do consistently with our family or friends is a tradition. I'm so grateful for the strength these traditions give our family.
It's Friday today, and our Friday night tradition is to eat homemade pizza while we watch a movie together. It's such a great thing to look forward to during the week, and we all seem to give a collective sigh when we settle in to enjoy this time together.
