Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better

We recently borrowed an Exersaucer for Jolie to play in. The doctor said it would be good for her to sit in one to complement tummy time and get her off her back. Jolie seems to like it.

With Mierae around though, sometimes Jolie gets squished to the side as Mierae tries to make room for herself as well! Or, Mierae tries it out herself when Jolie isn't in it. It's been interesting to see Mierae's legs kicking wildly while her head is stuck inside the exersaucer's seat!

I guess it's pretty obvious that any novelty in the house is what Mierae is going to want to go for. But, here she is letting Jolie take center stage on the new toy.

Another "novelty" Mierae just had to take part in as soon as it was introduced was Jolie's tummy time, or, as Mierae calls it, "tummy times." At night when we're getting Mierae ready for bed, Jolie comes to hang out on the bed, usually on her tummy. Mierae always heads straight for Jolie at those times, and joins her on her tummy as well.

This shot cracks me up, as I can just see the two of them as teenagers!

Mierae will on occasion share with Jolie, just as Jolie (by force but unknowingly) "shares" her toys with Mierae. Here is a photo from one afternoon when Mierae got out all of her favorite stuffed animals and dolls and layed them all out so Jolie could "play" with them.

These two sisters are definitely not able to share like they will be able to, or love and lean on each other like they will learn to, but I am finding joy in watching them experience the here and now, since that's really all we've got.

Well, welcome to the blogger world. I empathize with your struggles, as I share some of them. Potty training makes me crazy. I always say that I'm not going to get upset about the accidents but to focus on the successes, but that's not always easy to do. I also feel stretched too thin sometimes, and it's always comforting to know that I'm not alone.

Hope things go better after the trip!
