As I was looking through these sweet records of our family's memories, I felt a little longing for the days when the girls were small. I reflected on the years filled with dress-ups that stayed on all day, afternoons at the park, playdates, and evenings with early bedtimes. :) I lingered when I saw their baby faces and compared those images with how grown-up they are now.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to turn back the clock. But I had a moment then that I didn't think I would have for years to come: I saw for myself the way time flies, and I realized how we are now in that phase of life we only ever used to hear about from others. We are now fondly looking back on our days in grad school--not quite as poor as we may have thought, rich in blessings, and figuring out how to be parents/grown-ups.
I am grateful that we have our boys now, continuing that sweet phase of life of newness and innocence. And along with the wonderful continuance of playdates, park visits, and even diapers upon dirty diapers, we get to add the early days of grade school, bus rides, and parent-teacher conferences to the memory bank.
I am very excited to keep making memories, and I almost feel giddy about how we will remember our "now" years down the road.
Here's to living in the present!

Yes, it goes by SO quickly!! Just yesterday I looked at the book I made of Chase's 1st year and all 3 of the kids looked so much smaller, it was crazy!
Oh, I love this! Sometimes I just want to wish them big so I can get some sleep. I know I'm going to miss all the silliness & cuteness. Your kids are especially CUTE! Love your blog! Hope you're doing well!
