Today is Tuesday, and on this night each week Eric teaches an evening lab and doesn't get home until around bedtime. I just joined a little women's singing group with ladies from Church and they meet each Tuesday night for rehearsals. I've been going to my rehearsals with the kids the last three weeks, but tonight there was a boutique open house at the girls' school to benefit the PTO. There was a movie playing in the gym and popcorn to munch on while parents browsed the tables in the cafeteria, so the girls were excited to go. I should have known I couldn't break away soon enough to get to my rehearsal. I couldn't even call because I had forgotten my phone charging on the counter at home. Eric tried calling me several times too, and I felt bad that he wasn't able to get a hold of me. It took some work to tear the kids away from their game of tag when it was time to leave. I ended up with Henrik under one arm while Ollie sat in the front carrier and the girls trailed behind me. We were our own little circus trying to exit the school. But I'm thankful for opportunities for the kids to get out and have fun.
This morning I was thankful that it wasn't raining so I could go on my training run for next week's Turkey Trot. Eric didn't have to go in to work until late morning, so he graciously stayed home with the boys while I went. I'm grateful for having something to work towards, and grateful for the motivation that it gives me along the way.
