I know General Conference weekends are always favorites among LDS families. We love our traditions and enjoy the chance to just relax and be at home together. Here are some photos from our weekend.
Saturday morning we got donuts. We tried a new local place and weren't too impressed, but we got a good deal with a coupon and enjoyed them all the same.
We heard about an orchard in our area where we could pick apples, so before conference we got our feet wet in the grass and walked on smashed apples as we tried to find our favorites.
The kids were enthusiastic at first, but then they just wanted to eat their spoils and play in the van while Eric filled the second bag.
Sunday morning we had cinnamon rolls. I actually made the dough around 2:00 am when Henrik was up and not interested in going back to sleep. Eric was in and out on the couch and Ollie had been fussy on and off too. Not exactly conducive to staying awake while listening to conference on Sunday afternoon! But Eric was sweet and let me sleep in Sunday morning while he formed and baked the rolls.
Ollie's first General Conference!
This conference I felt like the messages were very powerful in directing us to be strong in our faith and reach out more than ever to others in our communities. I felt again how important it is to have daily spiritual nourishment and communication with heaven. It is always such a boost and a great inspiration to listen to the conference talks. We missed seeing my dad in the choir this time. He was working out of state and missed singing as much as we missed seeing him.

looks like a fun weekend!
Oliver looks just like Henrik to me. So cute.
oh, I wish that I could watch conference at your house! How yummy!
Conference weekend is always a little crazy with kids and then throw in a newborn! We love it! I, too, wish I could have been at your house. Those rolls look delicious! You are such a great Mom! You do it all! Your family is adorable! Ollie is such a handsome little guy and he is getting so big! I can't believe it! They grow fast! Next time, I'm up at 2 am for a feeding, I'll think of you making dough! hah! Sure miss you!
