Day for Dad
Father's Day this year was nothing super impressive. It was just another Sunday with meetings, Church, choir practice, taking care of kids... But Eric did get the incomparable joy of seeing his two little girls sing to him from the stand during Sacrament Meeting. It was even more impressive because Mierae actually went up without cajoling, and even blew a kiss at the end of "Daddy's Homecoming" like she had been telling us she just couldn't do.
We gave Eric his gifts in the morning. He wanted to wait until after dinner, but the girls were insistent. I think I actually did better on preparing for Father's Day than his birthday! I made a small photo book of pictures of him with each of us alone and wrote down the reasons he is such a great Dad.
We got him a few other fun things like an air popcorn popper and cologne. That night for dessert we made a special sunflower cake for the celebration.
I can't imagine a better father than Eric. He is so good to spend time with the kids and play with them. He takes them on fun outings and tries to make the little things count. When I asked the girls what they wanted to say in the book we made for Eric, their responses both included, "He plays with us; he laughs," and Mierae said, "He comes for me when I cry." I think that is a great way to measure how you're doing as a parent.
We love you, Eric!

What a great picture of Eric and the kids! Yes, we definitely have some great dads in our family, and Eric is one of them. Hope you guys had a wonderful day!
Chase and I were sick on Father's Day so poor Derek had another not so fun day. Oh well!
That looks like a fun Father's Day! Eric really is such a great dad.
