Halloween

Our Halloween celebration was a little like our birthday celebrations: it went on for days! I was actually getting a little Halloweened-out, but Eric was happy to take the kids to their last activity on Saturday. He even let me sleep in super late--he and the kids were gone by the time I woke up! Here's the run-down of the week:

Saturday October 23rd: Boo at the Zoo

Tuesday the 26th: activities, treats, and trick-or-treating at Kroger (Mierae reluctantly went as Barbie after some intense persuasion. She bought the costume she REALLY wanted at Kroger that night: Tinkerbell. And Jolie got the Ariel costume she'd been dying for, even though she was just as happy to be Cinderella that night.)

Wednesday the 27th: Jolie's costume parade at preschool; crafts and activities with trick-or-treating at Giant Eagle

Thursday the 28th: neighborhood trick-or-treating (The kids completely filled their buckets to overflowing! They've both been very generous to share whatever Mom and Dad like to eat.)

Friday the 29th: Mierae's class party at school; ward Halloween carnival (I'm still on the Activities Committee, so we were there a long time! The kids had a ton of fun, though. We ate pumpkin pie, drank apple cider and hot chocolate; the kids went fishing, ate donuts on a string, got their faces painted, did a little photo shoot, and we got a prize in the pumpkin carving contest!)

Saturday the 30th: library storytime with crafts and a costume parade

Who knows how long the Halloween candy will last? But the kids have been really good about not begging for it. They're happy with two or three pieces a day (although Jolie was eating more this week because we had to reward her for putting in her eye drops after she got pink eye Saturday night).

We're really looking forward to Thanksgiving now. Eric's mom will be with us, and I'm excited to be eating real food for this holiday!

What a clever carved pumpkin!!!! Love it! and I'm sure your girls did too! I'm laughing about the week long celebration... I felt that, but since it was on a Sunday this year, Reesa kept telling me it wasn't over b/c we never went to our neighbors doors... but it was over for me too!!!

Like everyone else, I absolutely love your pumpkin!!!
And what cute pictures, they looked absolutely darling!
My Halloween pictures left much to be desired, but I couldn't do outside pictures because it was raining. Oh well, I'll have to try harder next year!
