Jolie is Three

Eric and I are still wondering how our baby got to be three years old. This last year went by really fast, and our baby is growing up! We didn't plan a special party for Jolie this year, and the celebrations aren't yet over, but I wanted to post about what we did on her actual big day.

In the morning we let Jolie open two of her presents, both Barbies, for her to choose which one she wanted on her cake. She shared the second doll very nicely with Mierae, and they had a ball playing with new dolls in the morning while I frosted and Eric helped a friend move.



A card had arrived from Grandma that Jolie was excited to open after Dad came home.


Then we went to the playland at the ice cream store because Jolie requested it for her birthday. We ran into two birthday parties going on, but still managed to find room to slide, play basketball, and play scare hide-and-seek. Jolie chose her favorite purple ice cream (black raspberry chip).


We called a few close friends to invite them over for cake and ice cream in the afternoon.



And then played outside with all our friends, like we've been doing almost every day since the weather starting warming up. The neighbor kids thought it was Jolie's party, and I wasn't about to argue. We ended up bringing more cake outside and sharing it all around.


Jolie started getting feverish outside and ended up falling asleep at 6:30. She woke up to the rest of her birthday gifts.


And then she and Mierae proceded to fight over them all day (home sick from Church). If only all little girls didn't like Polly Pockets and Barbies.... But, it's my lesson in patience and their lesson in sharing!

We are so blessed to have Jolie in our family. She is very loving and always says she's sorry when she does something to hurt someone else. She loves to dance and will drop everything and start swinging her hips whenever she hears music begin to play. She loves to play with Mierae and wants to do everything Mierae does. She has a horrible sweet tooth and is unstoppable when any candy is placed in front of her: she will eat it until it's ALL gone. And then ask for more. We sure love her. Happy Birthday, Jolie Polie.
