Since Easter Sunday this year coincided with General Conference, we gave the girls their Easter skirts and shoes the Sunday before Easter.
The zoo has a fun Easter activity every year. We got to go on the member preview night Friday and ride their mini-amusement park rides for free. We did this last year too, but it was MUCH less crowded then. Mierae was big enough to ride on the flying swings this year. When we got to the front of the line to see if Jolie was tall enough, she missed the mark by 1 inch, so she couldn't go. She was SO disappointed and just cried as I took her away. I didn't get a pic of Mierae because I was consoling Jolie by waiting in another line for a ride she could go on. But here are the other activities we did:
We made sure to go to Duckling Day at Whetstone Library. We were late, but still got in on some fun. Instead of including a free book in their goodie bags this year, they had a coupon for a free book at their upcoming Friends of the Library Book Sale. We are excited to go and choose our free books next month.
When we got home, inbetween sessions of Conference, we made Rice Krispies nests with M&M eggs. Mierae wanted to be sure to give some to our neighbors, her new best friends, from Sudan.
And here are the girls Easter morning finding their Easter "buckets." (The store was all out of baskets by the time we got there. Eric picked some up on clearance from a different store a few days later for next year!)
We had a great morning going to the Church to watch General Conference. I'm always amazed at how much I am touched when I watch Conference. It is such a spiritual feast; I always feel like my spirit has been starving and just can't get enough. Now I just need to review the talks as often as possible to keep that feeling.
We had a fun dinner with friends that night to end our day. It was a fun weekend.
