Mierae's New Favorite

Tonight when we sat down for our family dinner, I asked Mierae what her favorite thing was from her day today (and we did a lot of fun stuff!). Mierae's response was

"SCHOOL!"

Yes, our sweet baby Mierae grew up and went to school, preschool that is. But to our family it is a monumental step in a new and demanding direction.

The top picture is Mierae on the first day of most of the rest of her life. :) Our little pink cutie pie was so excited yesterday morning. She was nervous the night before, but Eric gave her a blessing and we prayed that she wouldn't be scared and that she would enjoy it. When I picked her up yesterday, she was so excited to tell me what she ate (Headstart serves breakfast and lunch to the kids), and what she played, and where they went in the school. And today was no different.

Jolie wanted to go to school right alongside Mierae. I just LOVE Jolie in this next photo.)

Once we got inside Mierae's classroom, Jolie took a seat at the table, just like all the other kids. (This morning when she tried to sit down again, the teacher gave her a fruit bar so she could eat the same breakfast the other kids were eating.) It was a little lonely without Mierae's energy and a playmate for Jolie, but Jolie and I got in on a fun Music and Movement storytime at the library yesterday, and a great morning of grocery shopping today. I think the 1-on-1 time with Jolie will be great.

When the sisters were reunited in the afternoon, a happy greeting was exchanged...

...only to be followed with a lot of fighting. :)

So, here's to the first days of the rest of our lives.

I think it's going to require three alarm clocks.

Wow, I can't believe she's starting preschool already! Both girls look SO cute, and I'm glad Mierae is liking school!

First of all, I LOVE your new family photo. What a beautiful family! You all look fabulous! I love that your girls are such good friends. I know all about the fighting. Believe me. I spend three quarters of my day putting out fires. So great that Mierae is loving preschool. Isn't it exciting? It is so fun to see how much they are learning and to see their little personalities blossom. Mierae looks adorable in pink (I'm assuming her favorite color?) Macy's too!

I so wish Cloey could attend preschool right now but it isn't feasible at the moment. I'm going to try and do home school for her but with Jacob around I'm not sure what we will get done. It should be fun.

I can't believe Kindergarten is right around the corner for our girls. *sigh* Remember when we used to hang out without kids?! how time flies.

Ahhh! It is so strange/amazing/exciting to have them starting something so big. Eli is in very part-time preschool this year and I am so happy for him, but it freaks me out a little to think that this means he is growing up and not just Mommy's buddy 24/7!
