Song Lyrics

My mom is utterly mortified that I took a liking to country music after attending Ricks College. What can I say--if 80% of the radio stations in Idaho are country, and your roommate listens to it, you start to take a liking to it. And one of the things I love most about country is that the lyrics (most of the time) are about families--husbands and wives who love each other and love their kids. So, what's not to like? I was listening to the radio the other day in the car and happened upon a song that really spoke to me. After Elder Ballard's conference talk about young mothers and my determination to find my enjoyable moments in each day, Trace Adkins' song "You're Gonna Miss This" really hit me. Even if you don't like country, listen to the lyrics of this song, and enjoy what's happening in your life right now. (It's on my new playlist; scroll to the bottom.)

I'm so thrilled that you still like country! I haven't seen your blog in a while and it is so fun... love the music and background! Your family is so cute... if we ever caught up with you guys again in this lifetime I'd be thrilled! It's been so many years, but thank goodness for blogs. Take care!

When I was pregnant with Jacob the song "Let Them Be Little" was on all the time. Still one of the sweetest songs ever!

Well, Robyn, I lived in Rexburg for many years...and I still don't like country. I offended many Idahoans. :) C'est la vie.

That's so funny how we think so much alike. I had heard this song right before Conference and just loved it and when I listened to the same talk, that was the song I thought of and put it on my play list and it's one of my favorite songs. It does really make you think and be grateful for the present and your precious gifts you have NOW!!
