Catching Up

Since her first birthday, Jolie seems to grow exponentially each day. Her favorite thing now is climbing. She loves to climb into our little rocking chair. Sometimes she'll sit in it and rock, and sometimes she'll climb onto whatever else she can that's higher than the chair.

Her climbing has also led to bumps and bruises! At Church two weeks ago Jolie bumped her head on the pew, and then later that week when we were at Toys R Us, she was climbing onto a child patio chair and fell smack on the cement floor, right on the exact spot where she had already been bruised. We can't seem to keep up with her owies, but thank goodness she always bounces back with a smile on her face.

She has also been a great help with the dishes lately. :)

Mierae is better with Jolie than she ever has been, but there are still moments like this:

I have been enjoying doing Mierae's hair these days. I can't believe how much hair she finally got this year. And compared to the days when she refused to keep a bow in her hair for more than 5 seconds, I can deal with the cries of pain when putting her hair into pig tails. It's fun to see her enjoy being girly and asking for bows. What a little lady.

The things I enjoyed most about my day:
Watching Mierae do a puzzle she hadn't been able to do before
Watching Jolie put toys away, and take them out again--milestones are so exciting!
Watching the girls greet Eric when he came home from school--lots of squeals, smiles, and kisses
Talking to Shellee--it's hard having your [practically] next-door neighbors move!
Having a prayer answered when a non-member friend stopped by and we were able to invite her family over for dinner
