When General Conference began Saturday morning, I had forgotten that the special Solemn Assembly would take place as we sustained a new prophet. I couldn't remember when it had taken place for President Hinckley, so I didn't know what to expect. But, I was truly taken aback at how powerful it was to me, to be able to stand with millions of other women at that moment and raise my arm to the square in support and favor of Thomas S. Monson as the next prophet, seer and revelator for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a powerful testimony to me that President Monson is the Lord's prophet today. I was grateful to hear the apostles' comments on the Solemn Assembly and to hear them speak their own testimonies of the calling of President Monson. It also seemed to me that many of the speakers used quotes from President Monson in their talks. Maybe it was coincidental, maybe it was to give all of us another witness to the divinity of his calling.
The things I enjoyed most about my day:
Both girls going to bed SO well while Eric was at the Priesthood session
Talking and eating ice cream with Eric after he got home

I had similar feelings. I couldn't remember what had happened with President Hinckley so it was all new and wonderful. I just wish the kids were in better spirits so I could have felt the spirit more but there was something in the air; even the kids noticed for a brief moment!!
