Enjoyable Moments of the Week

A few nights ago I was lying down with Mierae in her bed, hoping she would get drowsy and fall asleep (hmmm, it must have been late!).  I was trying to not respond when she talked to me, but this is the conversation we had:
Mierae: "Mommy?  Mommy.  Mommmmmmmy.  Mommy!  MOMMY!!  Mommy, I want to give you a hug."
(So sweet! So, of course I responded and gave her a hug.)
Mierae: "Say, 'thank you, Mierae.'"
Mommy: "Thank you, Mierae."
Mierae: "Thank you.  You're welcome."
Mommy: "I love you, Mierae."
Mierae: "I love you too.....I love you, Mommy."
Mommy: "I love you, Mierae."
Eric happened to be in the room with us, and I couldn't stop smiling at him over how precious that single minute was.

Last Sunday was the first time we'd been to our ward in three weeks.  I had to take Mierae to the bathroom during Sacrament meeting.  When we were leaving to go back to the chapel, we spotted Shellee and Deva out in the hall as well.  As soon as the girls saw each other, each yelled the other's name, and they ran toward each other and crushed each other with the biggest hug!  They couldn't stop smiling, hugging, and saying each other's names.  So cute!

Mierae and I had a grass fight one morning when we were enjoying being outside.  I couldn't stop giggling!  Jolie loved it too!

On a day last week when it had rained, I was getting the kids out the door to get in the car.  As I was buckling Mierae into her carseat, she said, "It's a sunny day!"  I snickered a little before telling her it was actually kind of rainy without much sun.  But, as soon as we started driving away, the sun peeked out from the clouds, and it was sunny for the rest of the day.  (I should try that again the next time it's a rainy day!)

When Eric took Mierae swimming last week, I actually tried a new recipe and made dinner for when they got home (pork chops with mushroom sauce and balsamic carrots).  It turned out fabulous.  It was such a great moment. :)

One night last week Mierae was watching" Mickey and the Beanstock" (not to be confused with "Mickey and the Giant").  She started laughing and laughing at the part when Goofy is sliding on the jello on the Giant's table.  She asked to watch it over and over again.  Too funny!

I have a friend who told me recently her husband is having big issues with his testimony, and has gone so far as to stop believing in God (not so enjoyable).  After the initial shock, I continued to have this on my mind for days and days.  But a joyous moment for me this week was when I was reading the March Ensign about the Savior and read Elder Nelson's article, "Faith in Jesus Christ."  I was touched so deeply by his message and the Spirit that filled my heart as I read it.  How can you NOT believe that God exists?  How can you not know that we are a part of something greater than ourselves.  And how can you deny the love of the Father of your Spirit?  I keep praying that somehow things can be reversed, and I only have a greater desire to strengthen my own testimony.
