Self-Portrait

Mierae was sitting at her "desk" yesterday (her rocking chair pulled up to and end table), and she had the cutest looks on her face as she concentrated on her drawing and glanced around at what others were doing in the room. I snapped a few photos and then edited them later that night. I wasn't expecting to be so struck by one in particular.

As soon as I looked at it, I thought I was looking at a photo of myself. The longer I looked, the more past generations became apparent in that little face. So many people have gone before her, and now she gets her turn to live her life and continue in their legacy. What an awesome responsibility I have as a mother. What a wonderfully bright future there is for my precious daughter.

I'd love to see some photos of you when you were younger. I love comparing children to their parents!

Oh my gosh, I thought the same thing: "Oh, what a cute picture of Robyn!" I have a photo of you holding the Thumbelina doll with the same expression. (I'll have to look for it). What a bright, happy and beautiful little face she has." I wish I could give her hugs and kisses!
