Slice of Life

In the scrapbooking magazine I used to get, there were often articles about scrapbooking one day in your life--your everyday routine, whether boring, exciting, monotonous or adventurous. I think most of us have our own routine, but because it's "routine" we don't think it's important. Well, just so that I know what I usually did at this time in my life, I decided to give it a try. This is how the last 24 hours of January went, as best I can remember.

12:10 a.m. Jolie wakes up to eat
12:30 a.m. I go to bed
2:50 a.m. Jolie wakes up again
3:20 a.m. Jolie wakes up again
4:30 a.m. Jolie wakes up again
5:00 a.m. Jolie wakes up again
8:30 a.m. Mierae crawls into my bed to finally wake me up
8:40 a.m. I feed Jolie and eat cereal for breakfast
9:40 a.m. I put on "Toy Story" for Mierae while I put Jolie down for a nap and take a shower
11:20 a.m. Jolie wakes up and we all have rolls, grapes and leftover pulled pork for lunch
12:15 p.m. Mierae poops on the toilet and not in her underwear!!
12:30 p.m. We all dance to music and play
1:15 p.m. Shellee and Deva come over to pick up Mierae and take her to the library to give me a break
1:30 p.m. Jolie goes down for her nap
1:40 p.m. FREE TIME (okay, this never really happens, but I have to put it down because it was part of my day)
1:50 p.m. Eric calls while I'm on the computer looking at minivans and we discuss how we'll get to Utah for my sister's wedding in March
2:40 p.m. Shellee, Deva and Mierae come back from the library and we hang out
3:20 p.m. Shellee leaves to go visiting teaching and Deva stays to play so she won't fall asleep in the car
3:40 p.m. Chris picks up Deva with her tummy full of goldfish
4:00 p.m. Mierae starts to get sleepy so we put on "Maisy" for her to watch
4:05 p.m. Jolie wakes up from her nap
4:30 p.m. Mierae crawls under the kitchen table and has an accident
4:45 p.m. We jump on the couch, build block towers, draw pictures and play
5:30 p.m. Eric comes home!!!
5:45 p.m. I make broccoli/carrot stir-fry for dinner while Eric plays with the kids
6:20 p.m. We all eat dinner together
6:50 p.m. Mierae and Jolie get in pajamas and read stories
7:10 p.m. I leave to go visiting teaching (yes, it was the last day of the month, but I really called about it last week)
9:00 p.m. I get home from visiting teaching and Eric and I have ice cream, and Tylenol because I have a headache again
9:20 p.m. Jolie wakes up to eat
9:45 p.m. I look through my latest Chadwicks catalogue and get on the computer to see what's on clearance
10:30 p.m. Eric and I review our tax refund forms and get them ready to mail off
11:20 p.m. Eric and I read scriptures and have prayer together
11:45 p.m. I say my prayers and crawl into bed because my headache still won't go away

It was probably boring for all of you to read, but it's interesting to see what exactly goes on during the day. I'm going to have to do this again and write things down during the day so I don't forget. There are definitely some changes I would like to make in this routine, but we're working those things out.... Today has been a little different because Mierae woke up at 5:00 a.m. So, she fell asleep with a big bite of her lunch still unswallowed in her mouth, and then Jolie went down for a nap too! So, YEA, more free time! (And I thought it would never happen again.) :)

Not at all boring to read about! I like to hear about your days.
