We had a great Thanksgiving with my sister's family today. All five hours of Pride and Prejudice, candy turkeys, delicious dinner and pies, and a fun visit.
Tamara's family drove down in the morning from Columbus, but then had to go back home that night so they would be home early in the morning for the furnace guy to install their new furnace. Wish they could have stayed with us for a night, but we went to their house the next day and stayed overnight there.
Story of the year: I waited way too long to pick up a turkey. After several weeks of shopping trips and not coming home with one, I figured I could pick one up to just put in the fridge to thaw by Thanksgiving. I was out Tuesday night to record Rebekah Morrison's audition video for Nauvoo, so I went to the store on my way to the church, but the one I went to was all sold out of turkeys! I had so many other things going on, that I called Tamara to ask if it was ok if we used the two turkey breasts we already had in the freezer instead of a whole bird. They were very gracious and said that was fine. So those went into the fridge to defrost. It would have been nicer to have the whole turkey to make gravy from the drippings, but the turkey breasts were still yummy.
