How To Be 6 (Belated Edition)

When you are a little girl turning 6, it is very important to remind everyone around you that it is your birthday and invite all of them to your party (you know, the one you want to have but you haven't yet asked your mom about).

Don't forget to constantly change your mind, beginning months before your birthday, when your mother asks you what kind of cake you want. Make sure she knows after she makes it that it wasn't really what you wanted.

On the morning of your birthday, be sure to ignore your older sister who is jealous of your waking up to gifts outside your room. Because it's totally not fair that you get gifts and she doesn't. I mean, it's only your birthday

For breakfast, be sure to eat some sausage with your birthday sprinkle pancakes, just to have a nice well-rounded meal

For your birthday lunch, be sure to tell your mom exactly what food to bring you from your favorite fast food restaurant. But be nice and share it with your brother. Oh, and make sure you show off your younger brothers to all your friends and teachers at lunch. It will make you feel really special. (Even though sharing your birthday cupcakes with your class at the end of the day will be even cooler.)

Choose an activity for your birthday that is the same thing your older sister just got to do at a birthday party where you didn't get to go. That way you can tell her, "Ha ha ha, I got to do the same thing!"

Take way too much time deciding what prizes to get with your tickets at Chuck E Cheese's. Because, you know, these are definitely priceless treasures!

When your mom takes you shopping for your birthday gifts, be sure to tell her you want everything on all the shelves you look at in the toy section. Let out an audible exasperated sigh when all the stuff you want is more than your budgeted amount. But then be very excited about what you choose, and don't wait a single minute to try it out once you're out of the store.

Be as silly as possible, have a huge smile on your face most of the time, love your brothers and sister, and share all your candy--whether it belongs to you or not--with everyone you see.

That is how to be 6.

my favorite was her telling you AFTER you made the cake that is wasn't really what she wanted. :) Hope she had a great birthday, a wonderful year, and that you didn't get too stressed trying to make it 'what she wanted'! ;)

Such great pictures! I especially love the one with Mierae not so happy about Jolie getting presents-- that is always the way it ends up!
