Project Gratitude: Day 8

During the intensity of storms from Hurricane Sandy, we lived in a wet, gray world. Yesterday I was sitting on the couch feeding Oliver while I watched Henrik play in front of me. He was jumping up and down trying to catch the dust particles in the air. All of a sudden I realized that he could see the dust because the sun was streaming through the windows! All at once the world seemed so much happier. I stayed in front of the window being warmed by the sun for as long as I could. Lucky for me, the kids just played around me in the living room. And I basked in that as well.

It was sunny again today. I am so thankful for that, and, like yesterday surrounded by my kids, I'm grateful to be a stay-at-home mom.

Besides realizing the serious scrumptiousness of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I get to do this

and greet this face after naptime.

I get to see the girls off to school and pick them up at the bus stop. I love that they come home to their mom, just like I did.

I get to watch the kids play inside

and outside.

I watch small feet try to fill big shoes.

And I don't miss out on moments like these

Mierae has been such a good little mommy for her brothers. Today the Sister missionaries came over for dinner and Ollie woke up when I was trying to finish things up. She got him out of his bed and held him for me until I was done and able to feed him. Another day this week she played ball with Henrik for me when I had to stop playing to take care of something. I am so grateful for her help and for the love she shows to her brothers, and me.

What amazing precious pictures . . . of amazing, precious children! I am glad that you have some good sleepers (and jealous:). I was wondering how much Sandy was affecting you guys there. I am glad it wasn't too bad.
