Project Gratitude: Day 16
For the last several nights Ollie has been up and fussy after the
other kids have gone to bed. It's gotten later and later each night. I
find myself walking the same route the kids take as they chase each
other--in front of the fireplace, past the dining area, across the
kitchen, back through the entryway...around and around. Sometimes I
think about changing it up a little and going clockwise instead of
counter-clockwise. But whatever direction I go, it always helps him calm
down and get drowsy enough to go to sleep. Last night before we made
our ritual rounds, I tried putting Ollie on the floor, wondering if he
just needed the chance to wiggle and stretch. He stopped fussing, looked
up at me with those big dark blue eyes, and gave me a big smile. I felt
his complete trust in me. It warmed me right up and made all the
frustrating moments melt away.
I am thankful for unconditional love.

Oh my goodness, that face! What a great picture, he is such a beautiful little boy! Yeah, my blog is private so you won't get updates, you just have to check on your own. Kind of a pain, I know :(
