It's amazing what you find when you upload photos from your camera after a month has gone by. How could I have missed this? Jolie turned 5 almost a month ago, and even though I only have a few photos to document it, they tell a fun story.
First try at blowing out the candles:
This is a little excerpt from my journal entry about her day: "For Jolie's birthday we went to Target for her to choose some make-up (eye shadow and fingernail polish) and then met Eric at Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Jolie requested a rainbow Hello Kitty cake. The morning was spent making it, as Henrik cried and the girls got neglected, but we got through it, and the cake was worth it (even though Jolie announced it wasn't exactly what she had wanted!)."
As far as gifts, we totally lucked out. I found a Polly Pocket on clearance at the grocery store the week before, and already had two other gifts in my closet at home: a Barbie with pool accessories we got for free with a rebate from a Christmas purchase, and two free Disney movies I got when my friend joined the Disney Movie Club. I was glad we went shopping the day of Jolie's birthday anyway, just so she could choose something all by herself.
Mierae was sweet to Jolie, most of the day.... She wrote this sweet card for her that I thought was so special.
We can't believe this girl will be starting school this fall!

She's beautiful and I think the cake turned out so great!! I can't believe Jacob and Jolie will start school this fall. It's crazy!!
