Favorite Mom Moments

When I got home from teaching tonight, everyone was upstairs in the girls' room. Eric greeted me on the stairs with a kiss, and then I poked my head into the girls' doorway. Henrik was lying down next to Mierae on her bed as she read him a book. Jolie was standing next to Mierae's bed listening as well. I just stared and stared, and I put my arm around Eric as I got a little emotional. I felt such pride to hear Mierae's great reading and such love to see my three kids interacting so happily together. It reminded me of another experience.

I often have Henrik in my arms or on my lap as I do things on the computer. Jolie often begs for attention when I do this, and likes to climb up on my lap as well. Despite my protests that there is no room, she finds a spot and nestles herself in. If Mierae is home, she will also see the fun and want to join the party. And even though there is no more lap to be had, Mierae somehow finds a spot with her siblings and we snuggle together on the computer chair. When at first I feel annoyance, it is quickly replaced by love and gratitude for the beautiful children God has given me. I feel very blessed.

I just love moments like this!! You'll have to teach me your trick about how to get that many on your lap. Any suggestions with having 5 on your lap at once? This will get interesting for sure!!
