Christmas Card and Letter 2010

Dear Family and Friends,

We're sorry this is arriving in your inbox instead of your mailbox, but we wanted to send you our Christmas wishes all the same.

The bulk of 2010 was waiting for and then enjoying the arrival of our third child, Henrik William: a boy!! :) We are very happy to have him in our home. We have all fallen in love with him, and it is such a joy to have a baby boy in our home at Christmastime.

ERIC is busy writing papers, analyzing data, sending post-doctoral position applications, fulfilling his calling at our Church as ward clerk, and currently doing just about everything but taking care of the new baby. We hope his gift under the Christmas tree this year is sleep!

ROBYN has had a more difficult recovery from Henrik's birth than anticipated, but is doing much better now. This year she enjoyed free mornings when Mierae and Jolie were both in school (even though she was sick or sleeping through most of them). She volunteered at Mierae and Jolie's preschool, finished off a great time of being in a sewing/quilting club, volunteered on a committee for the girls' school, served as a Primary chorister and nursery worker at Church, and learned how to get everyone ready for Church with Eric being in meetings Sunday mornings. Her Christmas present came on December 2nd!

MIERAE turned 5 this year and has started Kindergarten. After initially being terrified of going on the bus to school, she quickly warmed up and was jumping up and down with excitement after her first day. She is reading very well, and loves all the projects, recess time, gym time, and assemblies at school. For Christmas, Mierae wants everything she sees in any advertisement.

JOLIE turned 3 this year and was able to get into preschool right after her birthday in April. She loved going to school with Mierae for two months, and then continuing on there in the fall. She had two trips to the ER for croup this year--a first for our family. Jolie is learning to write her name, colors in the lines very well, and loves her Dad (even though Dad has a hard time returning it after she whines to him ALL day). The only thing Jolie has on her Christmas list is candy.

HENRIK has pretty much been an angel baby so far. I won't hold my breath for him to sleep through the night anytime soon, but he's eating well and is managing to take all the love his sisters give him in stride. For Christmas he's getting diapers, wipes, diapers, hand-me-downs, diapers and some fun clothes from one of Eric's labmates.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope your holiday is filled with loved ones, joy and memories as you celebrate the birth of a baby boy.

Love,
Eric, Robyn, Mierae, Jolie, and Henrik
