Christmas 2010

There wasn't anything especially unique about our Christmas this year. Mierae was taking all the fun out of it by announcing almost daily in the weeks prior that Santa Claus wasn't real. But on Christmas morning when she saw the gift tags on her presents, she knew Santa must have brought the gifts if his name was on the "From" part. :) It was fun to watch the kids open presents, and then play and play with their new toys. That's what made it special. It made me think a lot about Christmases when I was little.

Christmas Eve the kids opened gifts from each other (Barbie movies) and the traditional new pajamas.

Obviously Henrik wasn't too happy about taking pictures, but we loved putting him in his "My First Christmas" pajamas. We were also able to squeeze him into this "Team Santa" shirt we received as a gift. I love his little cheer. :)

And all three got a new Christmas book. Of course the girls were very helpful in opening Henrik's book for Him.

Christmas morning:

Mierae's big gifts were an electronic learning cash register, a Barbie convertible, and a Littlest Pet Shop house with pets. Jolie's big gifts were a Leapfrog laptop, a Melissa and Doug magnetic dress-up doll, and her own doll cradle and high chair so she can take care of her babies while mom takes care of baby brother. But the winner for the funnest present of Christmas?

Yep. I wasn't too surprised. :)

Our special Nativity with our own baby boy playing Jesus wasn't the spiritual highlight of our celebration like I'd been hoping. Mierae wanted to do it over and over playing a different animal each time.

And Henrik just did this:

At least the girls really know the Christmas story well!

We took an evening that week to go to the Easton mall and look at their Christmas lights and decorations. The girls loved the Nativity and the train.

Henrik was snug all bundled up.

After Christmas when we saw pictures of our family members together for their celebrations, or did Skype with them, we were very homesick and a little lonely. So we were very happy to spend a whole day with some great friends.

There were two things from Christmas break that were my favorite. One was watching "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs" with the girls. It was the movie we saw last Christmas (on the day we ended up not going out to Utah) to cheer us up. We watched it then with the same friends we spent time with this Christmas. It was even funnier this time we watched it; we were all laughing out loud over and over. The second thing was receiving thank you notes from Mierae. She was so happy about her gifts that one day she just decided to write all of us notes. It was the best.

We're hoping next Christmas will bring just as much joy, but be spent with a lot more family.

Two years ago Tyler kept saying Santa wasn't real too! This past Christmas I think he decided to believe or at least keep it to himself. We never put very much emphasis on Mr. C and maybe that is why he didn't bring it up, who knows. I love the pictures, Henrick is getting big!

I hope you guys are well. Thanks for the comment. I did struggle a lot over the past years but I tried to be optimistic through it all. It wasn't all the time but came and went especially with the hormones of having kids. I having been feeling really great so looking back I think I can see where I am now and how I have been off and on through the last decade so I can see I was more depressed than I thought.
