The other night as I was lying in bed (and surprisingly not falling asleep immediately), I reflected on the first week of Henrik's life. I was in awe of many things, but reflected on two of my biggest blessings.
First: a healthy physical body.
As I sit and stare at Henrik, I am in awe that he was formed inside my body. Isn't it such a miracle that a father and mother can create a perfect little human?! It blows me away every time I think about it. I am so grateful for a God who allows us to be co-creators with Him. What an awesome responsibility, and a great joy.
Second: Eric.
As I was lying there in bed, Eric had laid his head on his pillow for about 10 seconds before I heard him begin to snore softly. Eric has been such an amazing help for me. He always has been, but especially now that I'm taking care of baby Henri full-time, Eric does almost everything else. And then he apologizes that he doesn't help with Henrik more. He has been helping others who ask him for assistance, doing his job at Church, working from home, getting the kids up and ready for school every day, and has been up with Jolie at night. And he still gets excited to do projects with the kids and has such a great attitude about everything. I seriously love this guy.
