Dear Mierae,
I have been watching you in awe lately; I cannot believe that my firstborn baby is so big. I think going to preschool has made you grow up a lot. You are learning new words and have great conversations with us. You are really learning to recognize all your letters. You even spelled out a word on paper yesterday: P-L-E-S: "please." I was so proud of you! You love to read stories, and have started listening to books on CD. Your favorite stories are still princess, Barbie and Dora & Diego, but you love to hear new stories too.
You are such a good help with Jolie. You always encourage her to obey and try to help her when she needs something. When we went to the mall to play a few weeks ago, Jolie didn't want to go and ran in the opposite direction from us when we were walking to the van. I was tired of trying to get her to come, so I said I was leaving. You just started crying and said, "Don't leave her, Mommy!" And you called to Jolie and tried to get her to obey and come with us. Thank you for obeying and always trying to do the right thing.
You love to do things all by yourself. You choose your clothes (a skirt or dress everyday, along with pants or tights we make you wear), and you still love to dress-up. You and Jolie pretend play so well with each other. I LOVE to hear you calling each other by your pretend names and watch you pretend to go to school or the grocery store together.
You are very curious and want to know what people are doing and how things work. Sometimes your curiosity comes when you should be going to bed. When Mommy and Daddy went to the symphony last week, Paul and Anita were here to watch you. When you should have been in bed, Paul heard you whisper to Jolie at your bedroom door, "Jolie, open the door and see if someone's watching." :) Paul told us about that when we got home, and it made us laugh.
One of your favorite things to do is paint. You told me last week that you want to be a painter when you "get big." I don't let you do it very often, because I really don't like it when paint gets on your clothes or in the house. But, I'll try to be more encouraging if it's what you love. You also love ballet and gymnastics. I hope you can take lots more classes of both this year.
You have been singing along to the Barbie movie soundtracks and your favorite songs lately. I love to hear you sing! It's so fun that you've learned the words to your Primary songs too, and you sing them for us at Family Home Evening. Your favorite songs right now are "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," the song you call "Ahh" from the "Twilight" soundtrack, and the "Barbie: Diamond Castle" soundtrack songs.
You LOVE to watch "Barbie" movies. I'm glad that they are good movies and teach good things, and I even enjoy watching them with you.
I love you so much, Mierae. I love your laugh, your smiles, hugs and kisses. I always want what is best for you, and hope you know everyday how much I love you.
Love,
Mom
