Days Like This

A few days ago, I forgot there could be days like this.

Days where you bond with your 2-year old, have conversations, and share lots of hugs and smiles when big sister is at school.

Days when potty training actually doesn't seem so terrible, horrible, no good, very bad.

Days when your 4-year old gets so excited and hugs you so tight you lose your balance and both fall to the floor.

Days where a package is left on your doorstep for when you get home and the kids are so excited they sing and dance and play, and play, with their new treasure.

Days when you get to talk to your sister, and she feels for you so much that she cries too.

Days where your kids get to play all afternoon with friends who have been out of town for months, making it even more special to be with them.

Days where you eat cookies warm out of the oven.

Days when we're close enough to pick Daddy up from school so we get to see him 30 minutes sooner.

Days when during Family Home Evening everyone listens, everyone participates, everyone has fun, the Spirit is there, and you have cookies and milk at the kid table all together.

Days where your kids don't get crazy silly at bedtime, but calmly read scriptures, even fold their arms and are quiet for the entire family prayer, and get right into bed, lying still for each and every story you read; then sweetly asking, "Read it again."

Days when after you tell your daughter you love her, she says "I know mom; you always tell me that," and then says those precious words back to you.

Days where Eric and I laugh until we cry.

Today was a great day.

This post is so sweet, Robyn, it makes me want to hang out with you every day. Maybe then you'll rob off on me some more. :)

I just sighed with contentment. It sounds like a fairy tale story where everything turns out perfect in the end. Those are the best stories of all and I'm glad you got to experience one for yourself.
Sweet, sweet girls. Yay for families and all the joy we have with them, even on the hard days!!
