Last-minute Christmas Project

Wouldn't this be the perfect addition to a little girl's bathroom:

I've been wanting to make one for my kids and decided that it would make a great Christmas present, especially as we've been trying to think of ways to give homemade gifts and buy less at Christmastime.

I checked out my craft stash, and found that all I needed to buy was a frame from Goodwill. Total cost: $5.

I gathered some batting scraps and hot glued them to a cardstock frame.

Then I cut a piece of scrap fabric to fit and stapled it in folds to the back.

I chose some wide and narrow ribbon that coordinated, and cut it to fit, then arranged them across the front.

Then I stapled each end to the back. (The cardstock I used was the picture already in the frame I bought from Goodwill--that made it easy!)

Then I slipped it back inside the frame. DONE!

I made a few flower bows to give with the ribbon board as well. I got a silk flower plant from the dollar store, and used some pretty jeweled brads in my scrapbook stash. It was pretty quick, and easy!

I can't wait for my kids to see this under the tree Christmas morning!

Just catching up on my blog reading...I love this hair clip board you made. I hope you don't mind if I copy the idea and do one myself. I am so tired of my girls hair drawer being such a mess and something like this would be so cute.
