I'm ashamed to say it, but the last time I played in a recital was when I gave my Senior Recital for my flute major at BYU. That was over five years ago! I have performed in Church and played in the Utah Valley Symphony since then, but haven't given another recital. Lucky for me, our friend Carrie moved to Columbus. She got her Masters in oboe at BYU, so both Eric and I knew her. She called me up a few months ago and asked if I would play an oboe, flute, piano trio with her. I had already played it (at my Senior Recital!), so I was excited to jump at the chance. I had been working on a solo myself, and we put a recital together.
For anyone living in the area, I invite you to come! We'll be playing at my Church on Friday evening, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. There will be baroque, romantic, 20th Century, and even 21st Century selections, the latter being a piece written by another BYU oboist. It will be short--less than an hour, and sweet--refreshments at the end! If you need the address of my church, or directions, please leave a comment and I'll call or email you.

sounds wonderful! We'll definitely try to make it. What time? We'll need to get a sitter...
uh, that's embarrassing. I see you posted the time. Well, anyway, the rest of the comment is still true. :)
Robyn,
I'm SO SAD I'm not around to come! That would be so fun to hear you play. I'm proud of you for jumping at the chance. Good luck!
I wish I could come! You should have Dad record it so I can listen to it later.
You're still way better than I am though...at least you play your flute still! It's been a while since I've even picked up my cello. Yay for recitals! I hope it goes well! I'm glad Mom and Dad get to be there for it!
good for you!
I wish I could come, we miss hearing you and Eric sharing your awesome talents!
I WISH I could be there!! I didn't even get to hear your whole recital (the one 5 years ago) as Devin and I had to take turns with a screaming Joshua! :) Ah, good times. Can you record it??? :)
Thats what i get for being slow on checking blogs! If you ever do another one, we'll be there!
