Hidden Gems, Part I

My good friend Kim and I have talked a lot about how we need to get out and discover more in Columbus before our time is up and we miss out on all the things we could have done. One thing I had never done before is visit the Topiary Garden behind the downtown Columbus Metropolitan Library. So, we packed all of us in Kim's van and made an afternoon of the garden and the library.

Seeing this garden brought me back to my day visiting Giverny in France. Just look at these lilies.

The girls loved exploring.

The garden is designed after Georges Seurat's, "A Sunday On The Island Of La Grande Jatte."

I wish I could've taken a picture of what the whole thing looked like, but here's a close up of some of the "characters."

It was all so well-kept and beautiful. We'll have to visit again soon.

And we always enjoy time at the fun downtown library. They have an amazing kids section with so much to do. At this visit, the puppet show was a hit.

We can't wait to go on more adventures! Stay tuned!

That garden is gorgeous!! Too bad we don't really have anything like that around here! It really does look like the garden in that painting. So cool! It's good you're going out and seeing all these places there while you live there! Making such great memories and taking tons of cute pictures!

No, I don't "know" Heather. I had just seen comments she left on other blogs. I started reading hers and noticed that she served a mission in the Ukraine. I wondered if she was there at the same time as you and then one day I saw that you had left a comment. Suspicion confirmed. I was finally brave enough to admit that I had been stalking her and started leaving comments after that. She seems like a really great girl. I'm amazed everyday at how small these blogs make the world seem. I'm constantly finding connections through this person who knows that person and so forth.

I need to do that more here. I just felt too afraid to leave my house for a few months, but I'm getting more comfortable driving around this crazy city, so maybe I should just find a friend and go exploring.

The boys and I loved going to that library. After the library we would head out to the garden and just relax and eat lunch. Oh the good times in OH. Hope all is well.
I can't believe how big your kids are and kim's time flies.
