Why don't I think to do this more often?! Jolie was happy to eat whatever was on her plate, as long as she could dip it in ketchup.
But today she clearly indicated her preference to eat dirt...
with a cupcake on the side.
Other highlights of our week include Mierae painting her fingernails with a marker, rubbing a purple ink pad all over her body, Jolie needing to be held every other minute and screaming for over a half hour in the car on the way home from my sister's in Cincinnati. But we had a good week. Tonight Mierae surprised me by asking for her toothpaste and brushing her teeth all by herself, asking to take a bath, lying still for me to rub cream on after bathtime, asking to read stories and then lying on her bed and going right to sleep!! Jolie on the other hand screamed again for 20 minutes until I came and rescued her from her crib-prison. But we lay down together on my bed and she held my hand while she calmed down. Then when I put her in her crib she went straight to sleep.
I have appreciated the time I've spent this week in awe of my two beautiful daughters. I loved watching them interact and play, seeing their facial expressions and realizing how much Mierae is "a little Robyn" and Jolie is all her dad. If Heavenly Father never sent us any more children, I would be always be grateful that we got one little Robyn and one little Eric.

SO SO cute! And since it's now after noon... YOU MADE IT!! Hooray!
What a cute dinner, maybe my kids would be better about eating dinner if I made a smiley face, hmmmm...
And I hope Jolie enjoyed the dirt too, I love that! They are growing so fast and are both so cute!!! Wish we could see you more often!
yea! How fun! I've tried to make dinner look interesting, but, ummm, it never comes out very cute. Oh well. I'll have to work on that part.
I hate it when hubbies are away. I've never really experienced it too much, yet... but I will! Dev's going to be doing a lot of training while we're out there when jr is due...
Troy is leaving for a week and I'm so worried about it. Then I see my greenie with 2 kids and making cute faces for dinner. Always the example. (: Jolie looks like an exact match to her dad.
Those pictures are so cute of you and the girls. They totally look like you. We have the same a little Dave and a little Kristin! It's a lot of fun! Also Hayden just found out that he likes dirt a lot too! Yuck!! Miss you guys, and hope to see you when you come to Utah some time!
Those weeks without dad sure are tough and make you appreciate him a whole lot more. Tyler has been gone for two weeks at a time a couple of different times last year and it is a challenge but then you get used to life without daddy and the kids seem to mind me more.... hmm!! How does that work? I'm glad you survived!!
I loved your dinner face. How creative!
So cute! I'll have to make pigs in a blanket sometime. I'm sure Tyler and Casey would enjoy it. I love all the pictures.
Thanks so much Robyn for what you do while I am away. I really am jealous that you get to be home with Mierae and Jolie all day. I would love to switch places, but I know you are at home because you are far better for the job. It must be that innate nurturing that Heavenly Father instilled on all women. I'll have to show everyone what fun the kids have with me while you are teaching.
Love your dinners! So cute.
hi!!! I got your blog address off the alumni book! how are you???? your girls are beautiful! I hope all is well!

I'm just imagining Jolie dipping her cupcake in ketchup for one bite and dirt the next! So cute! What fun adventure is Eric on in Vermont?
