Mierae had fallen asleep while watching her show, and we were all asleep at 5:00. Not the best thing for bedtime, but it sure made me feel better. I woke up with my headache gone, and we were off to our Brazilian friends' for dinner and a great time playing.
But Saturday my headache showed up again in the evening. Eric put the kids to bed while I rested, but my medicine didn't seem to have any effect so I wasn't feeling a whole lot better. I thought maybe I could sleep it off again, but I kept waking up and could not get comfortable. Finally around 5:00 a.m. I got up and took some more medicine. But, it didn't help and I was just writhing--my head was throbbing and I felt nauseous. A migraine. I decided to wake up Eric and ask him to give me a blessing. Poor Eric has not been sleeping much--he's the one who's been getting up with the kids in the night and then gets up with Jolie in the morning. But, he got up immediately and gave me a priesthood blessing. He blessed me that I would be able to get back to sleep and that I would be restored to full health and be able to perform my flute solo in Church the next morning. He sat with me after that. I couldn't find any position, lying or standing, that wasn't making me crazy. I finally had the thought to put an icepack on my head. Eric wrapped one in a towel and applied it to my head, alternating positions every few minutes. I finally settled down enough that I thought I could go back to bed. Eric left the icepack on my head, and knelt next to me until I fell asleep.
When I woke up Eric told me that he had never prayed so hard in his life.
He prayed me well.
We remembered Elder Bednar's talk this last conference about praying with faith, and how even after a priesthood blessing, sometimes more faith and action (in our case, prayer) is required for the Lord to grant specific blessings. I'm so blessed to have a husband who is very mindful of counsel given by our leaders.
I was even more grateful to Eric when I found out Jolie woke up for the day 20 minutes after I had finally gone back to sleep, and, of course, Eric got up with her and didn't get much sleep at all that night. What would I do without this man? I love you, Eric!

Loved reading that post! It gave me chills! I am glad you are feeling better!
That is such a sweet picture of you and Mierae - both stomach sleepers it seems! I really enjoyed that post Robyn - grateful for the power of blessings as well as the power of prayer - and for good husbands who will do anything and everything to help.
Eric has got to be the sweetest husband out there! I'm so glad he was there to take care of you. How stressful, especially with a performance in church the next day! What a funny picture of you and Mierae on the couch. When did she get so big?!?!?! Robyn, you are so sweet all around. Thanks for always bearing your testimony in sweet, simple ways. You are always inspiring. Sure miss you!
