Zoo in Spring

This past weekend my sister Tamara and her family came to Columbus. David and Tamara were able to attend the temple Saturday morning while Eric and I watched the kids. It was pouring rain all morning, so we stayed inside. Sanja created a fun Cousin Celebration Carnival, complete with ring toss, jumping on the bed, and a few rounds of "Don't Eat Pete." Since a bed was already in the living room from the night before, the girls thought it would be a lot of fun to watch "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" while all sitting on the bed. These cousins always have a great time when they get to be together!

I don't know if Mierae was getting bored with the movie, or just really getting into it.

Our plan for the afternoon was to go to the zoo for the Columbus Parent Magazine Expo. Since tickets to the expo at the zoo were free, it was the perfect outing! We headed up, even though it was still raining. But, miracles really do exist. As soon as we arrived at the zoo, the rain stopped and blue sky began peeking out from behind the clouds. It was sunny and beautiful the whole time we were there. Just before leaving, we visited the parent expo and happened to be there at the exact time leftover Donatos pizzas were being given away! We couldn't say no to a free dinner! Just one more reason why we had such a great day. We hope we get to do it again soon!

The funnest part for Mierae was petting the goats, just like on our trips to Young's Jersey Dairy. We need to go back to Young's to visit and feed the goats....

The two Davids

Mierae could frequently be seen sticking her head inside the fences to get a closer look.

Sanja was a great help pushing the stroller, and Rebekah and Mierae enjoyed the ride

Jolie had a great time on Dad's back

The petting area in the aquarium

We always enjoy the time we get to spend in the aquarium. Jolie probably enjoyed this part the most--maybe because she wasn't stuck in the backpack the whole time?....

Finishing the last slice of pizza

"I hope we get to come back soon!"

Wow, that zoo looks like tons of fun!! Nothing like the Hogle Zoo that's for sure. I love the Fort Worth Zoo but yours looks amazing!! What fun times. You are always on the go, having visitors and doing play groups. I love looking at all your fun pictures!!
