Valentine's Day

Eric and I had planned weeks ago how we wanted to spend Valentine's Day. Instead of going out to a crowded, noisy restaurant, we wanted a quiet evening at home with a homemade dinner. Well, because of the sick kids, we couldn't drop them off anywhere to have a quiet evening. But, they went to bed pretty well, so we did have some time to ourselves in the evening. For dinner we made Wiener Schnitzel, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed carrots, and crescent rolls. We had a bottle of sparkling cider, and made Hot Fudge Pudding Cake for dessert (one of my all-time favorites!).

I really wanted to "heart attack" Eric's office while he was in class, but both kids went down for naps right before I would've had to leave, and Mierae was too sick to leave with anyone. So, I heart attacked the apartment instead.

The night before, I couldn't sleep, so I put a little kid valentine with some candy hearts inside Eric's backpack for him to find at school. I was giddy thinking about the silly little surprise he'd get. :)

Eric had written me a love letter while at school that day, and put it at my place before dinner to read. He wrote down 14 things he loves about me, and said I get 14 more for my birthday on the 28th. :)
