It was after this that Chris, Shellee and Deva moved to our apartment complex. At the beginning of the summer after they came, Deva helped Mierae celebrate her 2nd birthday. Here they are as Mierae opens up a gift.
Throughout the summer we would happen to go to our complex pool at the same time, and Mierae and Deva found themselves swimming together at the pool several times a week.
We celebrated the 4th of July together, going to the parade in the morning, and having a picnic in the afternoon.
And we've done storytime together, and had countless playdates.
Our ward members even comment on Mierae and Deva being such great friends, playing together in Nursery, always giving each other a hug when they greet or say good-bye, swapping shoes first thing when they see each other :), and calling to each other from opposite ends of the chapel during Sacrament meeting (we used to sit next to each other when I was still playing the organ at Church, but they got a little too disruptive!!). :) Now, Mierae and Deva are not the best of friends ALL they time; they are two after all. They still have their moments, and seem to have a love/hate relationship. Chris compares them to baking soda and vinegar when they mix! But, once they get past the pushing, biting, refusal to share (except sippy cups, of course), and jealousy, they always say that they're sorry and hug to make up. They're learning to take turns, and they always have a lot of fun playing together. This is how I'll always think of them (taken at our ward Christmas party).
We probably won't live in Ohio for the long-term, so I don't know how long Mierae and Deva will stay so close. But, down the road, when Mierae thinks of all of her good friends, I hope she'll be able to see these photos and know that she had a best friend in Ohio, with whom I hope we'll always keep in touch.

That's so cute! I'm sure she will love looking at those pictures when she grows up. You're such a good mom!
